Depends on who is listening: He has been compared to a varied list of artists. Among them: country blues artist Lyle Lovett, fiery bluesman Sean Costello, and “Jim Croce meets James Taylor”.
Songwriting influences:
“I love the character driven writing of Randy Newman, the musicality of Paul Simon, the lyrical genius of Dylan and the brilliance of classic blues masters like Willy Dixon.”
He studied formerly with Rob Seals, founder of the Songwriting School in Los Angeles; and recently with Matt Meghan at Artichoke Music, Portland, OR, completing both Songwriting as Truth Telling and his Song Forms courses.
